I don't think it's a black/white issue... some people prefer the platform of a conservative (and these people tend to be wealthy, as are the rappers you mention here) and some prefer the platform of a liberal. Some of those are also quite wealthy, but plenty are not.

So.... in short, it depends.

The Democrats will tend to hold on to the poor vote among black Americans sort of like the way the Repubs hold on to it for poor white Americans.

Rich folks, no matter their skin color, are a mixed bag in terms of how they lean and it tends to be either on finances or on social issues.

Kanye is just mentally ill.

The rest? Who knows?
hmm... Celebrities are very wealthy, glitzy wealthy and there are plenty of them. I can't believe you haven't figured out that the Democrat is the party of the rich.

Democrats represent nineteen of the twenty-five congressional districts with the highest median income. The remaining six seats held by Republicans are all swing districts being targeted by the Democrats in 2018. This is not surprising, since these twenty-five districts gave Hillary Clinton 62.6 percent of the vote on average – 14 percentage points more than her share of the national vote.

Republicans are looking for revenue to lower taxes for the middle class, and are taking a political beating because Democrats claim they are defending tax cuts for the rich. The rich, however, are increasingly voting for Democrats, whose policies under Obama gave us lower than 1.5 percent annual economic growth on average and a declining middle class.

Democrat policies hurt small business, not big business.

I'd like to congratulate Desert Detroiter.

You are like a flame to which the white moths are drawn.
It is important to note that these white moths are "colorblind" of course.

What do you want me to do about the problem? Adopt all black children that have only one parent at home?

It’s not my problem.

Good to know that Cardi supported Bernie. I did not know that. I wonder if she is supporting Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez since they are both from the Bronx. Both are beautiful young women of color who came from difficult circumstances yet succeeded.

I think AOC could correct some of Cardi's misperceptions on taxation and government spending!

Wake up loser libs. Not everyone wants to be your gullible and easily manipulated slave. Some would rather venture out on their own and obtain success independent of your handouts and lies. 8 years of Oloser left the African American community lost, broke and empty inside. Not a good place to be, but that's where government typically leads you. Some are starting to see the light.

By the way jazz > hip hop. African Americans created some amazing music, but hip hop is pretty much trash. Started out fresh but ended up wholly corrupted and stupefied. They would be much better off moving away from the commercial music and entertainment establishment, because it has ruined the originality and flavor of the music.
Though Republican, I will say the same applies to Republicans at times.

I wonder if there are some people who expect you to do just that.

Black people are doing the worst of all groups, have been for a long time, and one of their central cultural pillars, other than liberalism, has been rap music.

If that doesn't speak to what "going down the wrong path" actually is, then nothing does.

I'd venture that doing anything but believing in their old political beliefs is a positive step, given their lack of acceptable (to them) progress. Continuing to do what they have been doing is insanity.

Nonsense. Now you’re just talking out of a rear body orifice. You don’t know a damn thing about “central cultural pillars” in regard to African Americans. You don’t even know any blacks intimately.

Talk about what you know.

If you want African Americans to abandon a bad central cultural pillar, suggest the church! How bout that! Tell them to quit looking for a white Jesus to fix their problems and give up Christian superstition. More black folks believe in that nonsense than the number of blacks that listen to hip hop or belong to the Democratic Party. Why don’t one of you right wing smartass know-it-all paternalistic white folks ever suggest that??

Yeah...that’s what I thought.

Because succesful wealthy hip hop artists also don't like paying taxes.
