It shouldn't happen in America but until the bought Republicans and some Democrats realize that the only option is Medicare for all, we won't see anything different and we'll continue to see medical bankruptcy run wild in America.

It's killing them that they can't pick seniors' pockets more in order to redistribute the health bucks. ENTER: MEDICARE FOR ALL--aka Obamacare for Everyone, Now, Including Seniors.

Because that's what they REALLY want: to ensnare seniors in a new, mandatory health insurance/healthcare scheme. Believe it.
What a baldface lie.

Germany’s Universal Healthcare System is 135 years old. No two countries do Universal Healthcare the same.

It’s not perfect.

Only in the US is there this notion to throw the baby out with the bath water.

There SSI and SSDI qualify for either and you get health insurance.

Don't tell it and its solved.

We've already seen what happens to those plans and Dr.'s we could keep and how h/c insurance isn't h/c.

We know who lied about it too. 29 times at least.

In response,

1) The major problem in the early going was that they put meaningless penalties for non-participation which meant young CRUCIAL sign-ups didn't sign up in the numbers they needed. They did this because they didn't want to alienate young voters so um....that was whose fault exactly? (Anyone doubting this must be forgetting the major add campaign aimed at 20ish people about how it was cool and responsible to sign up.)

2) The democrats controlled the house, senate and presidency. Blaming opposition would be like Republicans a couple years from now blaming fallout from the tax cuts they just past on the Democrats.

3) Financial collapse probably hurt sign-ups as well.

Let's not be coy here, the problems with ACA were known PRIOR to implementation....they were over-ridden however due to things like not wanting to anger millions of young voters and of course generous health care industry contributions to both parties. If you recall, the blue dogs were a big part of this.

FYI- I'm currently a single-payer supporter so this isn't coming from some partisan mindset.

FYI, Medicare is a socialistic program with redistribution of medical dollars. For that matter, so is health insurance except there is more redistribution of medical dollars to high level executives of the health insurance companies.

It can take many, many years for your claims to get accepted with constantly reduced funding for the SSI and SSDI administrations. You can easily be dead by the time your claim is accepted. SSDI was the big loser in Trump's budget. Pentagon the big winner. That's consistent with who their donors are.
