Andrew Gillum gets another $650,000 from billionaire donors Soros, Steyer

Billionaire donors George Soros and Tom Steyer are directing $650,000 to Gillum's political committee, Forward Florida — a last-minute cash infusion aimed at boosting the Tallahassee mayor in the closing days of the Democratic primary of the Florida governor's race.

The donations, according to Politico which first reported them, come in the form of $250,000 from Soros, $300,00o from Steyer and another $100,000 from anonymous donors "affiliated with" the two billionaires.

...
Steyer and Soros and their associated groups have already poured millions into Gillum's campaign since it launched in March of 2017. Most recently, Steyer's NextGen America gave $500,000 to Forward Florida between July 30 and August 14. Soros also gave Gillum's committee $250,000 last month.

I will use this thread for those supporting Democrats to express their dismay at this attempt to buy and influence politicians.

When Democrats/Leftists say there shouldn't be big money in politics what they mean is THEY should only have all the money. They rely on dark donations.

Money in politics is bad. If you genuinely think Citizens United was a good thing for the country, I'd be surprised.

So the Dems should disarm if the GOP doesnt?

The money is bad. It needs to be taken out equally.

The money is bad but you can't go to a gunfight with a knife. They are playing by the rules that are in place. Do you think they should turn down legal contributions while the republicans take them?

All of our politicians on both sides have gotten to big for the good of the people.
I wish we could change the rules and get big money out of politics once and for all.
I also want all politicians to have the same healthcare the rest of us get. No special services or treatment for them.
They need desperately need to be reminded they work for us not the other way around.

Listen to the democrats.
They are the experts on armed robbery and money laundering into political campaigns.

The ruling was correct. It was a huge violation of people's Constitutional rights to free speech. If I want to buy a billboard saying "Vote for so and so because I am" that is not the place of the government to tell me I can not.

If you do not like your representative taking so much money, don't vote for him. It's really easy.

Works for me, if the Green Wave brings a Blue Wave.

Didn't Dems Say Money in Gov't is Bad?

Yes the Dems do say that but of course what they say does not always apply especially if they will benefit from it.

What is odd though is how the Left blames the NRA for buying politicians but these billionaire donors have a lot more money to throw around then the NRA does. ?
