How about just realistic. Government statistics reveal that blacks commit over 50% of the violent crime in this country. Blacks are only about 12% of the population. But consider this, Black women do not commit much violent crime. So we are down to 6% of the population commiting over 50% of the violent crime. Also consider that Blacks under the age of ten or over the age of fifty are not commiting much violent crime either. So now we're down to about 3% or 4% of the population commiting over 50% of the violent crime. When you think about it, that is just utterly astounding.
Afraid of young Black men? I don't know. Weary perhaps. To be avoided perhaps. This group, 4% of the population, is commiting over 50% of the violent crime. What should my reaction be?
If you want to be a realist than you would realize that there is relatively little cross-cultural crime. That is, black folks rob black folks, whites rob whites, etc.
So, if anyone, it should be black people afraid of black crime. If that is a reason to fear black men.

Yep, that is definitely true. However, as a white if I go into a high crime black neighborhood I don't think the locals will care what color my skin is. I'll be a victim regardless. There's probably a strong correlation between the amount of crime and the area.

You go into a high crime neighborhood, you are deemed to be a customer and your chances of having a problem are rather slim. Messing with you would be bad for business.
I am not talking about the black men you work with I am talking about the young black men you see in public and don't know?
If so why are you scared?
Be honest.
LOL no.
why would anyone be? unless the media has completely taken a grip on their lives. I used to go drivin in the ghetto with my roommate when we were bored around 1-2AM just looking to see if anything crazy was going down...
most people you show respect to show it back to you... if you act like a scared lil *****, then expect to be treated like it...

The problem is that if you go into a high crime area, you probably still will not be a crime victim. The odds are against it.

Are you afraid of lightning and meteorites?
I'm not sure I agree with this. I've driven through some areas in Chicago that I would be downright petrified to be on foot. Perhaps the odds are against it, but I won't test that theory with my life.
And no, I'm not afraid of meteorites and I use common sense when lightning is in the area. What are you afraid of?
