He ran against crony capitalism, and this is him keeping that promise. Of course Walmart flourished under Obama.
And we do know that the tariffs are a tactic to negotiate better trade agreements with the countries involved. American companies have been getting the shaft by past administrations who gave countries like China 'permission' to treat us unfairly.

This is good news, and I agree ...this is what we elected him to do.

He is the epitome of Crony.
You can bet there will be no tariffs on anything his kids have a hand in.
Apple asked for privileges. He said yes.

Lower taxes on wealthy. Raise them the most on the lower classes. Regressive taxes are good.

American public pays $500 billion a year buying from China. That’s the root of trade deficit that’s been taking about.

Now manufacture capacity is all gone and dependence is established.

Manufacturing in the US has been pretty steady for decades.

I believe the point is that the tariffs are going to hit Trump's base. Walmart is a huge help to the working poor, whether you love them or hate them.

The tariffs will affect all retailers if they carry the same items.

Paying more (for no reason) is equivalent to your paycheck being reduced. Same/Same. You get less.

Any kind of "wars" trade war included must go through growing pains. There is no doubt about it. The bottom line is that,

Trade wars could be worse for China's economy than the pain they inflict on US

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/19/chin...rade-wars.html

China knows this. The trade war is a weapon to use in order to force China to negotiate.
