No shortage of people still angry about the Civil Rights Act and so on, but don't think this is the exclusive purview of Republicans. Seems some, of all ideologies, long for the " good ole days" when white guys were in charge of everything.
Tweek....Seems some, white guys, of all ideologies, long for the " good ol days" when white guys were in charge of everything.
put an end to slavery, grant the rights to vote for women, pass the Civil Rights Act, implement affirmative action, change immigration laws to be more lenient, pass the gay marriage law, and pass many, many other protections and benefits all Americans have?
Aren't there a lot of democrats and gays that are Old White Men? does the far left really want to keep alienating more and more voters with their virtue signaling crap.
Well after listening to the crazy Farrakhan last night it’s no wonder more racism against all groups is spreading. That guy hates white people. He wants us all dead. He blames the whites for everything that is wrong. He is actually damaging to blacks by making them accept that they are powerless to change anything and to keep blaming others for any shortcomings or issues.
It's not literally "old white men" but a stereotype. It's referring to the Republican base that is still angry about the Civil Rights Act and the sexual revolution and wishes we could return to the "good ole days" when white heterosexual Christian men were in charge of everything and women were in the kitchen, gays were in the closet, and brown-skinned people stayed on their side of town out of sight and out of mind. Most people who hold onto that worldview are older white men, though it isn't so exclusively.
Exactly right. I have seen the stereotype with millennials as well, but it's a much smaller segment of their generation compared to the older you are especially those in their 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Look at who runs the country -- old, white men. As the United States of America continues to become more diverse every day -- more brown, more gay, more non-Christian, the country continues to be run by old, white, Christian men.
I have no personal issues whatsoever with old, white men. I will be one myself in another 15 years or so. But the United States of America was almost 100% Christian, heterosexual, and white when it was founded hundreds of years ago.
But America looks A LOT different now than it did when it was founded....and yet it is still old, white, Christian men that mostly govern this country and make the rules.
Sounds like a way to avoid the elephant in the room. Its not "old, white, men" who "run the country". Its extremely rich and powerful people who run the country. But since the mainstream media is owned by precisely extremely rich and powerful people, the media instead focuses on race, gender and age which creates alot of friction and hatred among ordinary people with no power.
