CNN reporting this now, and Rosenstein claims the NYT story is incorrect and based on biased (and unnamed apparently) sources. Says he doesn't think there is a basis to invoke the 25th.
I think it is ridiculous that someone can go into the oval office and secretly record what is being said and then turn around and use that recording to harm the people that were present or to sell to some news media. Secretly recording private or semi private conversations under such circumstances should be viewed as a form of espionage.
What are the secret 'Spies" trying to do? Undermine the government? make a fool of Trump or make a name for themselves and get paid?
If I was Trump I would make everyone that comes into my office empty their pockets but of course if he did that then the Left would question him and say "what does he have to hide?"
Word is Obama did this. Word is that there was a basket for this very purpose.

no other POTUS has had to face this problem from their own administration.
Your name is apropos. No other admin in recent history has attempted to take a wrecking ball to our institutions, democratic traditions, global alliances, and freedoms (especially of the press).
Burecreatic resistance to such absurdities could have easily been predicted.
