There were reports Barbara Lee, who represents the other side of the Bay, will be considering a run as Democratic leader of the House (which hopefully includes Speakership) after the election. I hope she does and her fellow Democrats are smart enough to elect her. Tim Ryan will probably make another play too, but for some reason he didn't win it last cycle even though he represents an area the Dems desperately need to win back (Rust Belt).
She has said so many ridiculous things in the past, is as “old as dirt” and consistently drags her party’s candidates down in the polls ONLY because they belong to the same political party. The Dems desperately need new and MODERATE blood, not an aged, senile, brainless sack of
For the sake of helping her party’s candidates, she should just leave.

/Agreed
Some of these folks are just blockers. The Democratic party needs new ideas. No one is taking anything that comes from Pelosi seriously any longer. And my primary issue is if no one is willing to work with you regardless if you have a good idea or not it's high time to step aside.
Smart, successful wealthy women are a redneck`s nightmare but I am in agreement that these old coots should retire.
The problem with Pelosi is that she raises a lot of deep pocket corporate and investment banker type money for the Democrats....but at the time is the antithesis to the democrats message about not being the fat cats, the investment banker, 1% types, old white people etc.
Considering you can't even oust her from her speakership, she's not going to resign.
....just like another smart, successful wealthy woman isn't going to go away despite what you might want.

I wish she would. The Democrats needed new and moderate blood back in 2008.
I'm encouraged to hear Democrats running now that don't support Pelosi or appreciate her efforts/tactics ........
I am not encouraged to see any candidate representing me running on the platform of blind loyalty to a party or person.

1. According to the RNC (I would say, on this matter, a reasonable source) she is more popular than Donald Trump - so unless you think he should resign, it's crazy to say the same about someone more popular.
2. She is a political animal and a very smart one. Now....some people may not like that, but she is vastly smarter and more effecting than Boner or Ryan or other Speakers. She knows how to work across the aisle...if and when it is/was possible and she has many decades of experience in the way Congress works.
Yeah, I know - you don't support her and she is old. But that's not good enough.
All in all, she's probably at the top of the heap when you measure the experience and IQ's of those in the House. You really can't deny that if you look around.
