Regardless of who you vote for, regardless of how patriotic you are, things change. What we have today may not be around tomorrow.

It's a scary thought, and as much as we wanna say "God Bless America", all good things come to an end. Nothing is promised.

Some think an idiot president will destroy us, some think we'll be destroyed economically boy foreign powers. Left things right will destroy us, right thinks left will destroy us. The truth is we'll never know.

But do you think we're built to last as a country or were we just a prototype that started with a great idea but had flaws to keep going and we won't be the same country in the future?

If Obama couldn’t destroy us, no one can.

Collapse may not be inevitable but change is. Will we be the same country in the future? Of course not. Are we the same today as even 20 years ago? No. 50? 100? Liberals clearly think America is awful and the worst place in history so of course they'll continue to push their vision of utopia so some change will inevitably happen.

Felt like conservatives were saying the same thing before trump. Maybe we all think the end is near when things are not going our way.

America as it was and the republic probably would last little changed for many more centuries without collapsing if it didn't have immigration. That's what historically usually lead or was largely responsible for a collapse of a civilization. It certainly will collapse relatively soon.

This country deserved to die a long time ago for all of its cruelty and savagery since its inception.

I honestly think Trump is the beginning of the end. Democrats have the educated, technology, academic, Western U.S. farming, arts and entertainment and support global policies like the environment. They have absolutely nothing in common with Republican Trumpism. I think the country will regionalize and split. I think Trump country will depend on things like coal and gas with some farming.

Republican Trumpism is based on the myth of Trump's wealth, which was mostly given to him by his dad and Russian loans. If Trump were as rich as he says he is, he wouldn't be selling steaks on television and fake universities but his cult loves him. The rest of the country can't stand him.

Conservatives hate America as it is today. They only love their idealistic theme-park version of 1950s America that never actually existed.

America has been going down hill for decades. We'll probably sink to the status of a second rate nation like so many others. Nothing lasts forever. You can see many signs of decline, such as the lack of interest or pride in our own history, importance of greed and competing with the other guy instead of Americans working together, decline in quality of just about everything. What are we known for? Hollywood?

Are we producing any great art or music? Any great leaders? Any great writers? Do we make the best cars?

Those are just questions to think about. If Americans could stop right now-- Stop the hatred and start getting together and being Americans again, there might be a chance of stopping or slowing the decline. I would advise my younger relatives who are just starting out to try to go and live in another country if they want a good life.
