I was in Germany last year and every cop had a gun that I seen.
Well, they do make some great guns in Germany, but mostly for export. Even their airsoft guns are so restrictive that you can only have one that is semiautomatic
The criminals buy them on the street- there is no data base for that.
Or steal them. Always thought those "This house protected by the 2nd amendment" signs translates to "This house contains portable, expensive items that are easy to fence and immensely useful for criminals", but to each their own. I admit my pitbulls are probably more maintenance-intensive.
I have relatives in Germany living in a fairly small town, less than 10,000 population. For about 50 years after WWII ended they had an unarmed constable and had very few problems. In recent years changes have come and their town has become more violent. They still have unarmed police but they have the backing of a fully armed SWAT Team on call. If you kill one of these unarmed cops in Germany I have serious doubts that you’ll live to see the inside of a courtroom or jail cell because Swat will be coming to put you down.
Do you folks think unarmed police would work in America if the criminals knew there would be a kill squad dispatched if they shoot an unarmed cop?
No I think people attempt to violently resist police out of the hope of breaking contact and thus not even getting a lessor punishment for a crime less than murder. They would still kill the first officer to make it less likely that the death squad can identify and then execute them.
That's not to say that the British Police aren't pain, as Sergeant Plumb of North Yorkshire Police demonstrates when giving out a ticket for not following road signs whilst riding a bike in York.

Yes, the criminals get them on the street from unscrupulous gun shop owners. 60% of the illegal guns on the street are from 1% of the gun shops selling to them. The ATF would be able to locate these shops if congress would overturn the law preventing a digital database on gun registration.

The way to reduce crime is to abolish the State (which criminalizes all of us). All individuals having the full right of self-defense will make criminals think twice about violating the non-aggression principle.

So who will investigate crimes and administrator justice?
