She came across as confused to me. I'd be an a-hole too if I were in his shoes.

To agree to call for an FBI investigation also opens up the possibility of an open-ended investigation too.

As other people have mentioned, Kavanaugh is merely a job applicant just like millions of others across America He isn't OWED the job. Ford's accusations notwithstanding, we don't OWE this whiny entitled brat anything. He doesn't necessarily deserve the SC seat even if he hadn't been accused of assault. There are numerous reasons people don't get jobs, and he is subject to being excluded just like every other person on planet Earth.

So character assasination is ok then?

He'd been nominated and there's no confirmed reason for him not to be appointed.

I was thinking the same thing while watching. He was rude and condescending towards those asking him questions. If this is typical of how he behaves, why do people so desperately want him on the SC?

Who wouldn't be rude and condescending in his shoes with politicians from the other side pulling something like this.

People get turned down for jobs at McDonalds because they posted dumb comments on social media. I feel like someone being turned down for a Supreme Court nomination for something like this, even if it's not conclusively proven, is not unreasonable. Out of all the highly qualified judges in this country, it shouldn't be that hard to find at least one who is squeaky clean enough to hold up to an aggressive vetting process.

The difference is between something you did and some an unverified claim from many years ago.

Would you think it fair if you were turned down for the only available position of its kind in your career field based on someone saying something derogatory about you?

Trump wants him because if it comes down to brass tacks, a Kavanaugh on the SC will save his butt should the Mueller investigation dig up serious dirt on POTUS and the doo-doo hits the fan. Like everyone else in this administration, Kavanaugh is merely a puppet for Trump. But he's either too dense or too blinded by excitement to realize it.
