Yes, on purpose. That was as much of a smear as this one, but notice the Republicans didn’t run with it anyway like the Democrats did here. It helps to have a complicit media.
Only the birthers really ran with that smear. It was too stupid for anyone else to believe, but birthers are particularly gullible.

Well, he didn’t actually do anything unless throwing ice at someone could be construed as illegal. The Dudley guy got arrested for hitting same drunk guy with his glass after drunk guy threw a punch at Kavanaugh and friend. Tough to tell on some of that report as it looks like it was copied on an 80 year old mimeograph.
Not only that - but though some people are saying that K threw a beer in a guy's face, apparently the report says he threw ice in a guy's face. Ice. Who drinks beer with ice in it? Yuck.

Funny enough, he actually kind of did. As soon as investigation announced, he sent a statement saying he would cooperate with FBI completely and is ready to be questioned.
It really has reached a comical level. When a “big” breaking news story is ice thrown at drunk guy, it’s blown past ridiculous and headed straight for total lunacy.
Hot headed Kavanaigh reacted to a comment by throwing his drink (don't tell me it was water) and ice at Dom Cozzolino. A fight ensued and Kavanaigh's buddy Dudley ended it by clobbering Cozzolino with a glass or mug sending him to hospital. Not comical.

Only those standing in judgement would claim to ask the FBI to come and interrogate them. No one with any common sense talks to LEO's without a lawyer present.
