Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, he should step aside because of his outrageous, unflattering behavior and multiple accounts of untoward behaviors in his past. This to save his family humiliation

Step aside for an unsubstantiated accusation? Really?

You'd probably be crying, screaming, and disrespectful too, if a group of political hacks had just destroyed your life and the lives of your family in the name of party allegiance.

At least he didn't sound like a (fake) two-year-old little bratty girl as he talked.

Amul Thapar would be perfect for the position but he's not white and he's not sufficiently right-wing on the hot button social issues that the Christian Right cares about. So, they are stuck with Kavanaugh and there isn't enough time before the Novemeber elections to go back to the drawing board to nominate somebody else. It's him or a moderate and that's why there's such a push to ram Kavanaugh through.

I am aware it happens. I put the odds of it low enough that I tilt toward the accuser. The nice thing about this case is though, the truth will come out. If this was a set up against this man sympathy for him will be immense. Everyone thinks that's a crock of ****.

So what's your problem with the accusation then? She should have had more proof? So far it only accusation+testimony and now investigation.

His blatant partisanship is the thing that gets me about him. It all came out in his angry rant the other day, how can he be fair and impartial after he let that out. But he will never step aside, it's not in him to do so. Let them seat him, and let the people speak at the ballot box next month. And I remember how dirty they did Obama, Senate republicans blocked Judge Garland confirmation.

That's your opinion. Mine is that his outrageous behavior shown last week is that of someone who can't handle criticism, can't handle bad press and gets angry when someone says something about him that hits close to home. Your mileage may vary.

personally given what kavanaugh has been through in the past couple of weeks, and what his family has been through, i dont blame him.
Over half the country made that determination and that includes current judges AND the American bar Association.

So .

I breezed through.

How come Kavanaugh can't?
If Kavanaugh gets through, he can't get any further to the right. He's a bought and paid for corporatist toady who will continue to back everything favorable to the GOP's corporate masters and damaging to the public, workers, the environment, etc.

He's a creep and he's been exposed.

You are so right. He's already bought and paid for.

Do you really want someone on the SC that thinks this is a Clinton conspiracy.
Everyone here knows that the democrats were looking for anything possible to sink his nomination, with most democratic posters noting that he "had it coming" for the way the repubs treated the last guy Obama nominated.

So, please top being duplicitous because there is absolutely a concerted effort to derail him and that is one of the few truths we can get both sides to generally agree upon with regards to kavanaugh.

There will also be a concerted effort to smear the next justice, the one after that and so on and so forth regardless of which president or party is nominating them.

Good LORD. Hillary testified for 11 hours after Republicans basically accused her of murdering, on purpose, 4 men and she held up a damn sight better than that.

No. He sounded like a two year old bratty boy having a massive meltdown on national television.
