Moderator cut: trollingWhat purpose does this have other than to make the evangelicals feel better? I know...there's something else going on that Trump wants to distract from. Every time Trump blatantly panders to the evangelicals like this, there's usually something else going on at the same time.
Another dishonest claim and thread.
Diplomats and U.N. Officials fall under different rule exceptions.
See the OP's link !!!
Since the 2015 Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, U.S. policy has dictated that diplomatic visas are only extended to married spouses.
“Same-sex spouses of U.S. diplomats now enjoy the same rights and benefits as opposite-sex spouses,” reads the announcement obtained by Foreign Policy. “Consistent with [State] Department policy, partners accompanying members of permanent missions or seeking to join the same must generally be married in order to be eligible” for a diplomatic visa.
Diplomats would be eligible for “limited exceptions” under the Trump administration’s policy if they can prove they are from countries that outlaw same-sex partners, according to Foreign Policy.
That exception, however, reportedly does not extend to U.N. officials.

Rekt!
Come on now, Trump bashing is just getting old and coming from someone who doesn't even like him.
This White House surely does have a communications issue - -they can't even give out information that can clearly state what their administration is doing and why -- so it gets muddled in the telling.

Heterosexual couples are required to be married to receive a spouse visa, however there was an exception made for same sex couples.
The law will not just be the same regadless of your sexuality.
I don't see why there should be special rules in the first place for one group of people based on their sexuality.
I don't mind equality, but special rules for one group because of their sexuality is nonsense.
Either allow all unmarried partners visas or none.

Get married and they can get a visa. Unmarried opposite-sex partners are not given visas either.

I'm sure they would if they could, but only 15% of the world's population lives in a country that allows same sex marriage.
