NAFTA and the latest "agreement" has nothing to do with "free trade". Its a mishmash of regulations, protectionism and gifts for special interests who write these trade deals.

For many decades, the trade deficit with Japan has been in the 10's of billions per year. Taken against inflations...and compounded to the present day, this has got to be in the TRILLIONS. Sure, it goes up then goes down then goes up.
Japan has gotten smart and now has a lot of their stuff made a labeled in S. Korea (another country we have a large deficit with) as well as MANY other Asian countries....
It makes sense to go after ALL the big ones, right? Japan is #4.....
