Great. Now we are going to get Presidential Alerts every time he decides "Fake News!"

I just hope I can block it somehow.

Well it says Presidential so he will probably claim it as his own.

The TV one said FEMA or something, but my phone said "Presidential Alert". I
sprayed the phone with bleach solution and all is OK again.

LOL, you’re right. I thought it was listed under plain old emergency alerts. Apparently we now have mandatory presidential alerts from Dear Leader that can’t be blocked.
Why would we need this and emergency alerts?

Small point. He has not abused it yet. Wait for actual abuse before complaining.

The message came in to my phone as "The Presidential Alert System has been activated on your phone. No further action is required."

I am good with emergency alerts we've always gotten on tv and radio, that started out with that weird squawking and then this is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System.

This is different.

It was just like the alert I got a couple of weeks ago when there was a flash flood warning. My ringer was off so it just made a buzzing sound, no big deal. I really really wanted to say mine said MAGA, but people here don't seem to have a sense of humor. .

They are supposed to be off during class anyway.

One more reason I am glad I don't have some kind of "smart"phone. I get enough spam without it (and I live in an area that has phone alerts for a local emergency)

P.S. I found the following linked article interesting:
