"Why can’t you have empathy for Dr Ford and her family"

I DO.

But let's think about this.

Ford believes something happen to her. I believe her.

She BELIEVES she has witnesses.

With her 2 Masters and a PhD, one would THINK she would TALK to her "witnesses" to corroborate her story BEFORE sending the letter making HUGE accusations against someone of Kav's record as a judge and going for the Supreme Court, to Di FI.

Wouldn't YOU have wanted knowledge about being called as witness to something BEFORE it is sent on?

I know I would.

IF she had told them before hand and was told by EACH OF THEM, they do NOT agree with her she MIGHT NOT have sent the letter KNOWING her witness's would NOT back her or her story story up.

Just a thought.

Kavanaugh went on a 30-second tirade about the Clintons and the democrats. Kavanaugh literally RAGED about the left and how much he dislikes them.

And yet BK is supposed to be fair and impartial about the biggest decisions that will impact this nation for years. He doesn't have the tempermant, BK is the exact same person as Trump, but on a lesser scale. he grew up rich, went to the most expensive schools, piggybacked his way through life on the privilege provided to him by his rich parents....

and now feels that he is entitled to a top position even though he doesn't have the mental discipline for it. And like most privileged people, they cannot STAND it when somebody challenges them on anything. BK had that "how dare you stand in my way of something I was born for" mentality before Senate last week.

lol - Guess all you want to, but the Constitution reads like, well, the Constitution. And it must be respected as it is written, and if there are parts you don't like, there is a way to amend it. THAT is what moderates want.

Even judges VOTE.

Why is it OK from dems to go wild and demean the Senate but NOT for a man to defend his reputation?

"and now feels that he is entitled"

NOT "entitled" but EARNED.

Good grief. This is what this world is coming to. Particularly offended by the snide name calling.

They have always been partisan. Often extremely so. Some have said and done outrageous things due to their partisanship. However it has never gotten much attention before.

Sometimes they turn it off when on the bench and in writing decisions, although their decisions are always 100% of the time influenced by the political and social positions. Sometimes they do not bother turning it off and their decisions and/or demeanor are very obviously partisan.

The American people just have this bizarre misconception about who and what judges and especially SC Justices are and are not. Some of them were never good lawyer or judges prior to being nominated. it has always been extremely political at times and less so at other times, but it has never been made into a media circus like this. It is even rarely much of a media issue at all and never to this extreme.

The left is in a panic because they has surprisingly lost control of the supreme court, possibly for the remainder of their lifetimes. There is also a reasonable likelihood that Trump will appoint another justice and maybe even two before he is out of office. Both parties have started focusing on appointing younger justices when that party is in power so they can assert control over the supreme court for a longer period of time.

I think they made a mistake when they decided SC justices would be lifetime appointments. They did not anticipate people remaining alive and active to 80 or 90 years old. hey also did not anticipate the amount of power the Supreme court would assert and eventually wield, nor how political it would become.

His life isn't in ruins.

He is most likely still going to be on the court and has a lifetime guaranteed income.

His wife and kids are still with him -- they are healthy......

He had a rough two weeks -- and then he became a Supreme Court Justice.

He'll be okay.

If this experience was so damaging to him he can't be neutral -- he should step down...or not be confirmed.

If this has ruined him -- he shouldn't be put on the court.
