Perhaps the reason for the gender differences noted in these fields is due to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act not being passed until 1964, not the ignorant reasons being bantered about in this thread.

Yep you're right these women serving in the Senate have to hurry up and get home to do the laundry and cook a nice hot meal for their husbands.

By the time a woman is old enough to win a senate seat, her childcare days are likely few and far between. Or, as in the case of Kay Bailey, dear hubby took care of that. Grassely's comment is an insult and most likely BS.

All true but according to Grassley's statement only women don't want to work hard.

So where do all those graduates from medical and law schools end up if not the "real world". The GOP judiciary is not representative of the real world nor are their SC nominees, if they were you would expect maybe one female. How is it possible that women make up 50% of the population but not one on the senate judiciary or supreme court in 40 years, what are the odds.

Women in the professions tend to marry other professionals. Two professional incomes means being able to hire someone to clean the house and mow the grass.

They can also afford quality child care and may be able to spend more of their non-working time doing things with their families.

Men really want to be corporate slaves?
Yeah but more labor equals more stress, you may as well hop into the welfare wagon

Men make up 50% of the population and represent a fraction of nurses. Why aren’t you complaining? Women make up 50% of the population and represent 0% of the NBA.

Same thing that Harvard female grads do. They marry men who make more than them and stay at home or don’t dedicate themselves to their careers.

Very true. Many women that I know simply milk off their husbands and view work as extra spending money and a means to get health insurance.

How many Harvard Law school grads do you know that would rather not be bothered with a SCOTUS appointment due to the workload.
