Correlation does not imply causation. Maybe your friends are all obese couch potatoes who live unhealthy lifestyles. That would be a more logical explanation, since there are millions of regular users who suffer none of what you've described here.
I call that a pothead. It's slang for weed smoking couch potato.
There are millions who do.
So we are clear, I personally feel there's good in MJ. I am very interested in it's ability to help chronic pain. I think it should be legalized and taxed. False claims of no health issues is exactly the same as false claims that it ruins your sperm count. We are just now starting to see the effects of the smokers from the 1960's in the later years of their lives. Hopefully there's a group out there tracking the long term effects to pot so we can get it streamlined to legalization/taxation.
Until you can prove to me that weed didn't help contribute to the laziness, binge eating, no exercising, wasting away of several of my friends through science, then I'm going to not become a daily habitual weed smoker. If science proves me otherwise, then I might consider it a drug option for my chronic pain.

I submit the majority of the friends you are referring to would be in the exact same condition of health as they are today even if they had never touched marijuana.

Possibly, but adding a daily ritual of getting stoned all day long didn't help. An addiction is an addiction whether it's to food, sex, or pot.

So what you're saying is in truth. You have friends who are slobs, and that they smoke pot. But, you don't really know that the pot made them slobs, just that they're slobs.
The study showed that the damage persists even after you stop. People really need to rethink these pot legalization pushes and fight for a better and healthier society for themselves and their children. I see a lot of public money going to support kids with birth defects in the future of these recreational drug states. Hopefully, the “party of science” will cone around on this issue.
*should be “birth” in that poll
People are going to smoke pot whether or not it is legal. Either its taxable and regulated or its sold on the streets by drug dealers and people are sent to prison simply for possessing it. Pushing things into the black market does not stop anything. Recall prohibition?
People consume all sorts of things things they enjoy that are not in the best interest of their health. I don't need to the nanny state telling me what to do. I don't smoke pot but what people do in their own homes is their business not yours or the governments.
However marijuana is quite benign compared to all the other things people do. Low sperm count? That is the biggest health risk you can come up with? And you know what perhaps having less unwanted kids being born is probably a good thing. Last check humans are not an endangered species. Perhaps thinning out the herd is exactly what we need.
