Since Republicans and Democrats typically cannot get along and always backlash each other, how about we abolish the two state federal government and let each state have their own “federal/state” government with their own president? Act like an independent country basically but still within the same nation.

Nice fantasy, but there is no way.
I'd be happy to split into two countries, but splitting up the states is going to be tough and the Left would end up with most of the good beaches.
