I like watching Cabinet meetings when they are available on the White House youtube channel. You will feel much better watching the one this week where they list how much money they've saved us by streamlining regulations and red tape. The economy is benefiting as a result. Environmentalists will be pleased at what Zinke has been doing, too. Ignore fear propaganda about him.

I like these meetings because it helps me associate the name and title with the face.

Larry Kudlow had great things to say about the economy, best in twenty years, things going faster than he expected. This fact was interesting: biggest rise in blue collar employment and wages for unskilled workers are rising faster than the professional class. Small businesses have been unleashed and due to optimism people are willing to take risks. More people are starting their own businesses, too, for the same reasons.

This is the cabinet meeting where at the end Trump asked everyone to cut 5% fat from their departments. Considering many of Obama's boasts about new jobs were really padding the Fed payroll, I imagine 'last hired first fired' will play a big part. Civil servants don't make money, they cost us money. With upgrades in the software and streamlining inefficient processes, fewer people are needed. But no worries, with the low unemployment rate they should easily find new jobs. Many might take early retirement and then work in the private sector.
