Outside of the L.A. forum, what do folks think of this issue? And not just in L.A.
Is this just old folks trying to keep L.A. the same? Terrified of change?
Are you unaware that Calif. has the largest number of illegal aliens in the entire country? Is that what you call terrified of change by objecting to their presence here in our state that is causing the need for additional housing, schools, hospitals and jails? I smell the stench of the race card in your post.
California is overpopulated. They don’t have enough fresh water as it is. It’s an arid region. Kick out all the illegals and give the people who cannot make it a bus ticket out of the state. Stop funding the dumbest segment of the populations procreation. Vote all the Democrats out.

LMAO, I wasn't even thinking about race lol. WTH?
You came in with THAT chip on your shoulder. I've always been interested in cities and architecture.
I looked at L.A. and wondered what differed and the more I read the more I was puzzled at L.A.'s development.
Come to realize it that L.A. wasn't really future proof. Like how you create something that is suppose to stand the test of time and last throughout the years.
It got me interested and seeing what changes the city goes through. Especially breaking through that stereotype that L.A. "isn't a real city".
Honestly, urban planning and architecture are the main reasons why I visited C-D. Never thought to join the political discussions.

So with that being clear, sure, lets get rid of the illegals, but lets also continue updating the city.

That's mean! How do you expect democrats to ever win an election again?
I'm for retaining local control on housing I'm for well planned out growth and slow growth where I live that helps with the property values as well. It may be selfish on my part but I'm for keeping the supply down within reason it helps my equity.

He infuses race and undocumented immigrants into every single thread. That's all that guy posts about.
You live in a quiet, desirable community and your property has appreciated nicely over the decades. Why would you want a glut of higher density housing creating more traffic, bigger crowds everywhere you go, bigger class sizes, more noise, etc all effectively in the name of devaluing your property and shrinking your nest egg to make the area more affordable?
Because you understand that you have to share the world with other human beings? And they also need a place to live?
No one should assume that a community is going to stay the same over decades. That's just unrealistic.

Sure, but bypassing market forces to create some ‘affordable’ housing is also unrealistic. Just let the supply and demand sort themselves out.
