Those troops are being compensated handsomely to be away from family (family separation pay, per diem pay, lodging, etc)

That’s part of joining the military, following orders regardless of how you feel.

You’re more than welcome to give me money (or other troops money) to prevent us from joining the military for the paycheck and benefits it provides.
