... will age-appropriate citizenship tests be provided for children who wish to become citizens? Will toddlers have to take a citizenship test?

This is not that complicated. It's clearly explained here: https://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo...for-child.html

Foreign-born minor children of naturalized citizens will also become citizens automatically if:

Quote:
One parent of the child is a U.S. citizen, by either birth or naturalization.
The child is under the age of 18 (at the time one or both parents become U.S. citizens) and is not married.
The child is residing in the U.S. after being lawfully admitted as a permanent resident; and
The child is residing in the U.S. in the physical and legal custody of the U.S. citizen parent.
This is the law already in effect, and you'll notice, toddlers are not required to take citizenship tests.

I think most people here also agree that US-born children of legal immigrant and permanent resident parents should also automatically have citizenship.

Remember, it's the babies of "birth tourists," who are not residents, and parents who are in the US illegally that are not deserving of US citizenship, in the case being argued.

Great alt right ideas here.
First, strip birthrights of all the brown people,
then make interracial couples illegal again.
Then separate water fountains.

I wonder if all of this can get done within the next 2 years

Stop “tourist babies” from becoming citizens.

Exactly! Bills have been presented in the past regarding birthright citizenship but they never even make to congress for a vote. Something new has to be done and if Trump's EO gets the ball rolling through the court systems all the way up the Supreme Court then it will have served its purpose. What are the lefty liberals so afraid of? That they will finally learn the truth that doesn't fit their agenda?

I've never agreed with birthright citizenship but I'm against changing our Constitution. Many don't agree with the 2nd amendment because they feel it's antiquated. Should we change this as well.

Oh for God's sake!!! First off not all babies born from illegal aliens are of the brown variety since we have illegals here from all over the world and second you're going off the rails with your last comments. Stick your race card back in your wallet! Geesh!

It needs to be considered coldly and rationally.

For instance is tourism birth actually bad for the US? Whether Russian, Chinese or South American the children being given this enhancement in life are likely to be people who do very well and may well make a significant contribution to the US. I can make a good mental case for blocking them as not being real members of the tribe. But not having them could well be deleterious to our group.

The existing rule is simple and straightforward to enforce. You get off into some are and some are not and things get very complicated quickly.

I am personally fond of the expansive America. We suck them all in and see how the stew comes out. But I have no problems with a more limited vision if we can figure out how to precisely define it.

But let us be careful of becoming too inward looking. We need to continue to grow with the inputs from elsewhere. Welcome those who push the barriers back...regardless from whence they come.
