One big reason many would is that they would see the their narrative has been false. But maybe they already know that.

1. Up to 50% more of the US Population will be governed by Democrats (than by Republicans). These are real elections that don't have gerrymandering or an electoral college.
That puts to rest the talking point that "no one in the USA likes liberals and everyone has walked away"/

2. Even when Beto or GA. or others lose by a few points - the fact that the deepest Red Large state in the USA lost 10-15+ points (spread) in those elections to a super-progressive liberal...that points to something.

3. Everyone has their fav, but Florida is the ultimate "telling" machine. It is Trump Central and they worship him like a God there (the God of excess development, Red Tide, Traffic, Abuse of Elders, etc.).....
If Florida goes Blue or partially blue that is another sample that would worry Republican strategists.

Give that no Republican POTUS when elected first has won the popular vote in 30 years...it's only by hook and crook (SCOTUS, Brother Jeb, etc.) that they've hung on.

The thing about elections is that they ARE fixed. But the Republicans can only fix them within the last percentage point or two. Once the electorate goes even a percentage or two toward Team Blue, that's a BIG difference.

I hope this helps

Ha, ha, you gave me a good laugh. In reality according to this information, the average age of a Dem is 47 and the average for a Rep is 50. Wow, 3 whole years, LOL

The GOP won in 2016 yet they're still perpetually angry. Win or lose, they're a bunch of whiners. Whining about the media, whining about immigrants, whining about crazy conspiracy theories.

Remember, in 1996, old-time 1970s retread Republican Bob Dole lost, despite the GOP keeping control of the Senate and House. A Clinton-divided government in the 1990s, but the economy was booming then.

In 2006, after nearly a decade of power, Republicans lost the House and Senate after the horrendous Hurricane Katrina response, the slowing economy before the 2008 crisis, and the Iraq mess.

In 2008, Republicans lost the presidency to a black man, and lost more seats in the Senate and House due to the GOP's association with Bush, Iraq, the faltering economy, race relations, etc.

In 2012, Republicans lost to Pres. Obama again, running a white corporate technocratic millionaire with little appeal to black, Latinos, and Jews.

Rinse, wash, repeat.

Are Republicans prepared for agony?
As prepared as I will be for a Democrat meltdown.

These threads are ridiculous.

It is too close to call for anybody.

And can we stop with the creating scenarios that always make the other guys look bad.

Don't you all get tired of the childish rants, bickering, games?

Not all Republicans are old people with walkers and live in gated suburban communities like the Villages, etc.

A lot of Republicans are bikers, athletes, boxers, etc.

A lot of young Republicans carry guns.

They've added a lot more fantasy and violence to their actions, tho.

The Republican future has been turning downward for the past 60 years. Only by red state gerrymandering and voter suppression, have they been able to sidestep their fate as political dinosaurs for so long. I think that they are about to face a plunge into the depths, from which they won't recover. Their strongest supporters are getting older and those of the opposition, are becoming younger and less entrenched in the ugly, self-serving values that drove the conservatives in the past.

The fact that they would turn to an abomination like Trump, as their last hope, shows how weak they are and how endangered they feel. The effectiveness of their tactics has come to an end. They can have a meltdown after tomorrow if they want. Not many other people will care.

Regardless of what happens in the next few years to decades, you still will have a conservative party. Whites will be declining, but there will be balance. America does not like one-party rule.

A new conservative movement will be reinvented and remodeled, and they will have a new message. Yes, you will see a minority GOP president and a white male vice president as a complement, or a ticket balance.

Whatever happens tomorrow there is no way in hell anyone could come even close to the melt downs of liberal Democrats after the 2016 elections. And they are still melting daily.

You put "meltdown" in the title, then say nothing about it. That's because there were no meltdowns. It's my old side (the left) that freaks the freak out every time they lose.
