Maryland’s ‘Red Flag’ Law Turns Deadly: Officer Kills Man Who Refused To Turn In Gun

Someone decided that Gary J. Willis should not have access to firearms, so the agents of tyranny were dispatched to his home to violate his 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th Amendment rights. When he refused to surrender those rights and willingly submit to their tyranny, he was killed.

So it begins....

Only going to get worse with the Democrat monsters in charge of anything. A civil war is definitely brewing and they are going to be the cause of it just like they were the first one.

This law will be struck down in time.

Because those who gain and amass power typically surrender said power willingly?

We have seen a pretty consistent interpretation of the 2nd Amendment in recent years. There is no reason to believe the courts will change precedent now, especially going forward with more originalists on the federal bench and more coming online all the time.

“Under the law, family, police, mental health professionals can all ask for the protective orders to remove weapons,” said Sgt. Jacklyn David, with Anne Arundel County Police.

Seems ripe for abuse. Also seems it would discourage people from seeking psychiatric care. The article doesn't explain why he was red flagged either.

Sending the police to do that is just asking for trouble.

This is what's from the article that's also troubling...

Police continue to investigate the shooting. At this time it’s not clear who called police to alert them about Willis.

Does this mean there can be anonymous tips that send cops out to do this?

Maybe someone should get some names for those antifa members in Maryland and send the cops their way.

So... it was determined he wasn’t stable enough to own guns... then he shoots at an officer when he gets mad. Wouldn’t that be proving the determination correct?

ETA: and on today of all days, where we had someone with severe mental health issues just shoot up a club full of people... do you really want to try to make this case?

Violates at least four amendments. Actually, make that five. Already know about the 2nd (violating the right to keep and bear arms), 4th (unreasonable search and seizure), 5th (due process) and the 6th (confrontation of those who accuse you), but toss in the 9th (just because we didn't list it here doesn't mean the people don't have the right) since his property, his life, his right to self defense, etc were all violated as well.

One of the more naked, glaring acts of tyranny in recent memory.

RIP Gary J. Willis.
