Macron's quote on the Radio Station Europe 1 was fairly clear and is cited on the BBC and numerous other media outlets.

Except that it's all English speaking medias.
It proves nothing except that most English papers can't do proper translation.
Have you heard the french interview entierly ?
The answer is no, so how can you comment on something you haven't heard ?
All I see here is a sentence badly translated and taken out of context.
The meaning was lost in the translation. Translating is a serious job. Lazy journalism and then things can take a very different meaning that what was really said.

Given that the BBC World Service is the world's largest international broadcaster, and broadcasts radio and television news, speech and discussions in over 30 language, I don't see the translating French as a major problem.
As for Trump he was quite angry with regard to Macron's comments.
Fascinates me that you guys, day after day, let the MSM tell you what to think.
