Before the current MAGA Bomber emerged on the scene, there were another, less reported, bombers; three of them in fact. Their plot to bomb a mosque and an apartment filled with refugees was foiled and no one was murdered.

The sad thing is, the toxic climate in Trump's America can now be used to argue for a lenient jail sentence. Wow.

Pointing to Trump’s rhetoric, attorneys for Kansas militiaman convicted of mosque bomb plot ask for a more lenient sentence

Patrick Eugene Stein faces life in prison for conspiring with two other men to carry out the attack, which was supposed to take place on the day after the 2016 presidential election. On Monday, his attorneys filed a memo in U.S. District Court in the District of Kansas, requesting that Stein receive a sentence of no more than 15 years. They note that Stein was an “early and avid supporter” of Trump and argue that the climate in the months leading up to the 2016 election should be taken in account when evaluating the comments prosecutors used to build their case.

Do you think they're using a dumb excuse that won't work, or is it somethign else?

You seem to be quite stressed, I hope you have a support system in place for when things really start going south for the President.

Yes, if they want to plead insanity.
So you're agreeing, that if you listen to and believe in Trump's rhetoric, you're insane?
If the jury buys that story, will it be legal precedent that anyone who takes action based on Trump's rhetoric is crazy?

Defense lawyers will seize on anything possible to try to mount a defense or to lower a sentence for their client. It doesn't mean it's actually true.
