Pence was handpicked by Manafort.

Doubt Trump will put him out of a job. Putin likely wants him right where he is.

Mueller, now that's a different story.

Pence is a bobble head he agrees with Trump publicly all the time. I think Trump tapped Pence because he knew he wasn’t a threat. Pence is lucky, his political career was all but finished until Trump came to the rescue. Without politics I see Pence as a televangelist.

Now we also have the hints that Chief of Staff Kelly is about to get the ax with Pence's COS Nick Ayers being promoted to that spot.

Will Pence sit idly by as a whipping boy if Trump turns on him? Trump can't fire him and he wants to be president or at least have a much stronger voice in culture-war policies than he has had so far. Pence is part of Trump's firewall with the religious right so he has that potential weapon in his arsenal. He has been a good pet poodle for Trump but might be in the doghouse for some reason.

Nikki Haley also wants to be president and her recently announced resignation from the U.N. post left people wondering what's up with her? She actually made an odd reference to her presidential aspirations as she was resigning.

The Byzantine workings of Trump's White House are so twisted and perverse with gossip mongers in every shadowed corner that it is hard to tell what is happening. It is possible that something is going on with Pence or maybe not. The word leaking out is that Trump himself is questioning Pence's loyalty. Is Trump descending to new level of paranoia or is there reason to be suspicious of the VP? Is someone else concocting rumours and feeding them to Trump to undercut Pence or maybe Ayers?

Kelly has said that Trump wants him to stay until 2020 but there seems to be doubt that that will happen. Kelly and Bolton are at odds over immigration policy so there is plenty of friction in the Oval Office... lot of heat.

AH, the daily "speculation" not worth wasting any more time with then it took to type this response.

Cool Is Pence on thin ice?

Pence is the very definition of an empty suit.

If tRump keeps him, it won't make any difference.

If tRump dumps him, it won't make any difference.

He's a total nonfactor.

sorry, I find that frightening! No way would that be a WIN for the country.

If pelosi isn't elected Speaker, who will be? think about it. Then think about that person dealing with a hostile Senate for a couple of years. No win there, either, IMO.

Not at the moment, but he could always decide to not select him as his running mate in 2020--which would be essentially firing him.

Pence is a shrewd man who knows all he has to do is stay in the background and make no waves in Trump's world and he's a shoe-in for the next Republican nominee or even the next Republican president if for some highly likely reason Trump can't complete this term.
