The GOP being literally the party of white men is secondary.
That is understandable. Do you believe the democratic party flirts with segments of society that republicans cannot support?

Do you have an example? I don’t know what you mean by “segments of society that Republicans cannot support?”

folly to look at physical appearance to judge competence or appropriate representation.

To do so is a smack in the face of MLK who said a man should not be judged by the color of his skin... goes for gender or any other aspect of physical appearance

choose to meet some statistical demographic balance in favor of electing people based on their policies and abilities is insane and destructive.

The celebrate the election, for instance, of a latino candidate and think that person represents all latinos is pure prejudice in action. fight prejudice using prejudice is not a step forward, in fact, it is three steps back.

Most career pols get elected in gerrymandered districts....like Maxine waters. She in no way possible represents all blacks or all women. she represents some small faction of voters unique to her district.

"but to create minority-majority districts," isn't it the LAW now?

"
The Voting Rights Act

Short Definition: Under certain circumstances, minority opportunity districts must be drawn that have at least 50% minority voting-age population (VAP)."

Redistricting Criteria: The Voting Rights Act - Public Mapping Project

Isn't this in direct opposition to he EQUAL Rights Act?

Well white Democrats have a long history of NOT voting for minority candidates in the primaries...so they need minority majority gerrymandered districts so they can smugly point out how they voted for more minorities than Republicans all while condemning gerrymandering.

Liberal Logic 101.

No matter how divergent people are there will be at least a few values they share. Nazis and white nationalists don’t share many values with me, but yes, I acknowledge their ties with the GOP are not comfortable. I am willing to believe Antifa, BAMB, Black Guerrilla Family, Nation of Islam, rabid socialists, or some other of the fringe elements of that are deliberately or unwittingly supported by Democratic Party don’t share many values with you, either. It is patently unfair to judge either of the two mainstream political parties by the whack-a-doodles that decide to claim them. If we had more viable political parties I might feel differently, but right now they go one way or the other. You have your nuts, we have ours.

I will concede Trump is one of our nuts, at one point he had been one of yours, and I am still trying to come to terms with him being ours and probably never will. He did not become the Republican nominee with the mainstream party’s blessing. You’d be in the same dazed condition if the Super Delegates hadn’t protected the Democratic Party from Bernie.

Those that want to label white people as racists? If you bring up a concern, the race card is immediately played.

ETA: I don't want to be a participant in a party that is tied to racists and even religious people, which unfortunately, the republican party is connected to. On the other hand, I don't want concerns swept under the rug because democrats suspect racism.

I agree with your first paragraph wholeheartedly. That is exactly how I feel as well.

As to your second paragraph, I somewhat disagree. Yes, I wish Trump was more polished. And yes, I wish he wouldn’t tweet, and I wish he didn’t try to be so polarizing.

At the same time, it is about time that we had a president that wasn’t so willing to share our wealth with the rest of the world. Globalism has been lopsided for decades, and maybe it had to be, considering that we had everything and most of the rest of the world was 3rd world. But it is about time we start to reign it in a little. China is doing fine on its own now. Better than fine. It is not the 3rd world communist country that it was before Nixon opened up our economy to it. Mexico should be standing on their own two feet by now as well. If not, it is their own fault.

We have created our own competitors, and now they must compete on their own. And if it takes an unpolished, buffoonish guy to start us in that direction, then so be it. All of the polished politicians are unwilling to change direction. Obama certainly wasn’t willing to change course. In fact, the opposite. I felt like he wouldn’t be happy until the entire world was equal to us, even if it meant brining us down a few more notches. It’s time for our leaders to start worrying more about their own citizens, than the rest of the world, because I can guarantee that the leaders of these other countries (european leaders excluded) are doing the same.

BTW, on the personality front, I think Trump has been doing better lately. I hope he can stay the course and keep doing better until the 2020 election.

""because they believe"

The ONLY thing I said is you do NOT know what others believe, so QUIT claiming you do.

I am not sure what the problem is. I know what my family believes because they told me. I don't go around thinking people are liars. They might be lying but I take them at their word.

You can't look at that photo, and not see it.
