Maybe he can find time to go visit the troops abroad after 2 years. But not if his bone spurs continue to bother him.

Jerry Brown clearly has a better memory and presence of mind than Trump who clearly seems to have issues with cognition and memory. FYI, Paradise is surrounded by federal land, and it's the federal government who is responsible for management of that land. There is plenty of blame to go around and rather than try to put it all off on California politicians, maybe you should understand a little bit more about the problem.

Quote:
In terms of which entity manages the forests in California, the federal government, manages more land than the state of California. The federal government manages 57 percent of the forests in California, according to the Legislative Analyst's Office. The state manages 2 percent. Private owners are responsible for 39 percent.

In addition, Peter Stine, a retired research scientist for the US Forest Service in Davis, Calif. told KTVU on Monday that land mismanagement is not the reason the Camp Fire has burned so destructively in Butte County, northeast of Sacramento. Stine acknowledged that more forest thinning and prescribed burns could indeed take place throughout the state and country in targeted areas.

But in the case of the Camp Fire, the massive wildfire that has destroyed 6,500 buildings and killed 29 people, started near or on federal land at the very lower boundary of the Plumas National Forest, an area which mostly shrubland and a bit of pine forest. The winds blew the fire to the west, which burned through predominantly shrubs, oaks and grass. CalFire listed the origin of the fire at Pulga Road at Camp Creek Road near Jarbo Gap.

As the fire has spread, the vast majority of land that has burned so far is in private ownership, Stine said. Therefore, managing the land and vegetation in that area is up to the individual landowner, Stine said. Plus, managing the state’s 7.5 million acres of shrubs is not likely feasible at all. Trump visits fire ravaged Paradise calling it "Pleasure."
They did not vote for Trump, so of course it is a pleasure for him to see them suffer.

The funny thing about that is that Paradise and surrounding areas are solidly Republican although Trump probably isn't even aware of that.

Aside from the gaff, it would be great if the President used his contacts and experience to spearhead the rebuilding of Paradise, as a model for California to build fire safe communities.

I sure hope we aren’t throwing government money at rebuilding it, like we do for floods, without correcting the vulnerabilities.

Trump was possible thinking of the word Pleasure, as he viewed the burnt out homes of the Hollywood liberal celebrities.

so what???

Barack Obama made an error, by referring to the Falkland Islands as the Maldives.

Trump at least went out there..saw the devastation ..and pledged federal help to California.... he actually acted Presidential as opposed to his usual roughness

Oh lordy. Have you been taking lessons from our verbally incontinent president. So you hate the state of California but not the individuals that live in the state of California? You've just given a whole new meaning to low information. This is laughable. Thanks for making my morning.

Trump is a national embarrassment.

We're to the point now where anybody who still supports Trump is also an embarrassment.
