I only see the knee-jerk name-calling "racist", "bigot" or other attacks from the left in the modern days. Now it's gone deeper too. I don't really see anything as comparable on the right. I don't care about the points people make as long as they are tolerant and respectful, hell my views are usually libertarian and live-and-let-be but I still have some conservative views about society.
Still those I encountered on the even hard right have been nicer and more willing to discuss with me and the hard left just screamed that I and others are hate-enablers or are misogynistic and racist. It wasn't really those on the right that complained about Apu in The Simpsons and had him written off the show. It isn't really those on the right that demanded society suddenly believe something is racist or insensitive arbitrarily because some one small group of people decided to claim it was.
