As opposed to the other extreme which would be a state like Wyoming.

Honestly, if you google "Florida man meme" pulling a knife on someone over a fart dispute is extremely minor compared to some of the stories out there.

Like,
-biting off neighbors ear for not giving them a cigarette
-smoking crack while on oxygen in the ICU and starting a huge fire.
Beat me to it .

Public flatulence is punishable by the death penalty in Florida. All the humidity makes it a noxious gas.

It's not the humidity that does it. It's the people eating those disgusting pink eggs floating in some sort of murky water. You can get 2 for 50 cents at every other gas station down here. That makes for toxic flatulence.

Pre internet/ 24 hour news cycle, something like this might have been buried in the middle of a local paper.
When I was trying to decide where to move 30 years ago Florida was on the list until a friend who had traveled there much more than I had warned me that it was total sh--hole. For 30 years the stories out of there have confirmed her warning. Another thing she pointed out is that the warmer the weather is the more lowlifes there will be and she was right. I think the blazing heat here in Arizona might limit the lowlifes we have here but there are plenty. Cold climates demand a little more responsibility and common sense to survive.
