Thanks. Didn't Noam Chomsky say something similar?

Except why "Even Esquire"? They always seemed to me to be a mainstream, non-stuffy magazine.

The Republican Party Is the Single Greatest Threat to the American Republic

I agree with this. My flirtations with the GOP are long over ... they can all burn in Hades without me ...

Why would either the Bloods or Crips burn down their vehicle for absolute power?

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,'
they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

- Norman Thomas, former U.S. Socialist Presidential Candidate

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Lightbulb The Republican Party Is the Single Greatest Threat to the American Republic

Unlike the Nixon/Watergate scandal, tRump and Russiagate will likely have far reaching effects on the GOP.

In 1973/74, the damage was mostly limited to Nixon and his inner circle. Largely due to Democrats controlling congress and holding the hearings in public, so that all was revealed and Republican office holders weren't seen as being closely connected to the crimes.

In tRump's case, his GOP congress has actively obstructed the investigation. That failure of the GOP congress to perform its oversight duty hasn't gone unnoticed.

If Mueller's report is as damaging as it appears likely to be, the GOP will probably pay a heavy price for their complacency in the face of tRump's obvious criminality.

It should make for great political entertainment.

This pretty much nails it. Never underestimate the power of propaganda, even the simple-minded fairy tales that got Trump elected. Especially when a population has been prepped by the erosion of their critical thinking skills, and by stripping their essential human values.

Leftists are the greatest threat to America. Not a day goes by without left wing extremists attacking American institutions.

I love how Esquire has no problem with the Democrat Party, i.e. the party of slavery, Jim Crow, and national corruption and obstruction.

Good grief! The non-stop bashing and trashing of half your fellow Americans is not only tiresome, but is keeping everyone firmly entrenched in their team mentalities. FFS, look at the wording used in both the article and the following posts. What the hell do you hope to accomplish with that? The Republicans aren't suddenly going to say, "Yeah, you're right. I'm stupid, a threat to America, and unscientific. I should become a Democrat because they're so much better than everyone else, the only way my life will have meaning is to become one with a group of people who obviously hate me."

Just stop it.
