To begin with, can you show us any statistics indicating that The Apprentice audience was mostly Democrats? I very much doubt it. I'm guessing that you may be making this up.

But, more importantly, even if they did "love" Trump on The Apprentice, how on earth do you make that leap to imagining we'd consider him a suitable president? Over the years millions of people loved Jackie Gleason, but I don't think they were stupid enough to want him to be president.

Hypocrites? Are you kidding? You think that because people liked someone in a television show, they're hypocrites if they don't want him to be in every other aspects of their lives? In any case, I don't know of a single Democrat of my acquaintance who watched the program.

As a New Yorker, I can only tell you that most New Yorkers disliked Trump generally, which is why he lost our state in such a landslide. Our past mayor notably called Trump, "Piggy, piggy, piggy."
