Trump says he’d be proud to shut the government down, in what is probably just his typically terrible “Art of the Deal” negotiating tactics. Though to be fair, with his history of not paying those who work for him, I’m sure he’d be just fine with federal workers not receiving a paycheck for the holidays.
I want a shutdown, if that's what it takes for democrats to send the message to tRump that this huge waste of taxpayer money is not going to happen. I don't care how long the shutdown lasts, as long as they don't cave on this issue. The wall is a massive waste of taxpayers dollars that would accomplish nothing, other than to disrupt the eco systems surrounding the wall and, would impact and create more headaches for ranchers and other landowners whose properties would be impacted. There are more effective strategies for addressing illegal immigration. A wall is a symbol, nothing more.

Even if the taxpayer footed the bill for the $25 billion wall it would still be much less than the over $100 billion a year that illegal aliens cost us.
That's because the Democrats and many Independants want the flow of illegal aliens to continue. If they put Americans first they would realize that the good walls do deter them. They can't even argue the costs because $25 billion for the wall is much cheaper than the over $100 billion a year that that illegal aliens cost us.
Not only that, but it was a bi-partisan congress that passed the Secure Fence Act back in 2006 so why aren't they funding it? Shouldn't they be held accountable?
Many if not most regular Americans have no common sense either otherwise they wouldn't have voted for Hillary by popular vote. Far too many Americans don't have their priorities straight and haven't even bothered to research the issues. They just deal in emotion and feeling.
Trump literally has many undocumented immigrants working for him. You have to be a complete idiot to think Republicans care about anything other than scaring the population into giving them more power. They don't care about border security. The wall is a silly gimmick for people who have no idea what the real issues of immigration are, and how most of this can be solved with changes in policy.
This probably would have gone off a lot better if done without cameras. Nobody wanted to look weak and was trying hard to impress their base, thus getting nowhere.
I thought trump said Mexico was going to pay for the wall,so why is there talk of shutting down the government if trump doesnt get funding for the wall when Mexico is supposed to pay for it.?

Exactly, and let's face it the one you are replying to and the other anti-wall people in here don't want the wall no matter who pays for it. It doesn't fit with their pro-illegal agenda.
They never counter the argument that even if the wall is paid for by the taxpayer that it's still cheaper than the over $100 billion every year that illegals cost us. I've even posted links proving how the good walls do work and it's not even Trump's wall but the wall already approved by congress back in 2006 and is only for 700 miles and that's all we need. So they have run out of arguments against it and are left with pie on their faces but still keep repeating the same ole lame arguments that have been debunked over and over. Blockage between the ears?????
