The mechanisms are different, though. In this sort of scenario, Facebook would make more sense to use because of the share factor. You can't really share a YouTube ad with someone, but could with something you see on FB.

Because the Russians used the platforms better. They also added in the ability to commit crimes and hack peoples servers, and to use agents.
