What is surreal about this is that the nation gathered around Dubya after 9/11 because there were no Dems or Repubs but just Americans at that point in our history and he took advantage of that to launch us into a decietful war that killed thousands.
The man is a disgrace to everything that is American.
...great post...someone who gets it.

Give LBJ credit for realizing he'd put the country on the wrong path and bowing out of a re-election campaign.

My only regret is that Bush was not able to clean house at the CIA which leaks like a sieve.

What's being kept "secret"? Things that would embarrass our government? The lunch menu at the White House, for instance? It's classified.

I will agree that we WILL be there for quite some time, maybe not in the capacity we are now and hopefully not in the same military role - but that should come as no surprise.

Germany, Japan, S. Korea come to mind. I see no problem having a presence in the area. None at all.

"W"'s legacy will be a good one, if his vision of the mid-east is realized.
Bush's vision included "mushroom clouds over American cities" and mission accomplished. It's hard work. A lotta hard work.

Unlike Iraq, in all three we arguably had the support of the civilian populations.

If you insist on comparisons I believe Iraq is better compared to Vietnam, another case of chest thumping poltiicians rushing off half-cocked to an easily avoidable war of choice. And we all know how well that one worked out.

I'll go one further and say we may just have one of the worst governments in history. Look at the approval ratings of the House and Senate. They all s.uck.

Perhaps that will be the catalyst for some change in November.

The only thing that will change in November is the name of the President. Nothing else.

Then you'll have nothing to complain about.
