No, we simply don't need to erect a monument to fear and racism to stroke one man's fragile ego. The wall can be climbed, flown over, or dug under, and will be all but totally futile as a xenophobic effort to stop immigration.

ABSOLUTELY. Democrats have zero incentive to “make a deal” with tRump. They have the majority House votes, their opposition to the Wall is supported by the majority of Americans. Why on earth should they negotiate anything? Trump chose to create this problem. Allow him to deal with the consequeces of workers going without pay and services being cut. If democrats are smart they will give nothing on this issue-
It is even more interesting to note that the US used to give to the poor USDA surplus like rice, beans, dried milk, blocks of cheese, canned meat and so on.
Then corporate lobbyists got into the action because they saw something in it for them.
Why not just give the poor money only usable at the grocery store?
Hence the creation of food stamps.
Now that corporate is just handed the money they no longer need to support food stamps.
Go ahead and kill the food aid programs, just keep the money coming for us sayeth the corporations.
Folks will have to stop buying scratchoff tickets for a little while until their scam gets funded again. Food stamps is 5% helping families and 95% scam of our tax dollars.
