Itís a curious thing that no one seems to doubt those who accuse clergy of sexual molestation while at the same time being skeptical about a woman who makes a similar claim about a man.

In most cases the accusations against clergy go back decades. Yet when a woman comes forth with an allegation decades old, it is too common to dismiss her claim.

( Not talking about Kavenaugh thing. I tend to think both he and his accuser misremember many things)

Seems to me there has been a historic institutional bias to protect men who behaved badly, especially when the male is perceived to be in a position of authority.

I attended Catholic school through 7th grade. It was understood by the kids it was necessary to avoid being alone with certain members of the clergy. Unimaginable at that time, anyone would ever mention this to a parent or a nun.

That the church continues to protect the identies of the clergy down to which parishes, is troubling.

Most priests have never engaged in molestation. Yet their silence makes them complicit.

How 'shocking.'

If it were any other organization that was involved in such wide spread sexual abuse, it would be considered a criminal sex ring.

RICO, nuff said.

They better start letting their clergy marry - otherwise their church is going to be in serious trouble 10 years down the line.

I've been boycotting since the late 1990s. But everyone should stop enabling the Catholic church and stop supporting it with their presence, volunteerism and dollars.

I'm so glad I told my kids they couldn't be altar servers.

The catholic church shelters and protects child sex abusers yet when money is stolen from the coffers, they immediately have them arrested!

Molesting children has nothing to do with the vow of celibacy.

Nothing prevents a clergyman who chooses not to be celibate from leaving or pursuing sex with a consenting adult.

These perverts should be prosecuted to the fullest and so should the conspirators who kept them in their roles.

We all know that Jesus did not mean globalism when he said, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,"

Agreed as we're doing the same.
