But guess what? Individual 1 also said he would take the blame for the shutdown THIS week. Now he is blaming the Democrats. If people can't see the cons this man runs, there is no hope. This is a TRUMP SHUTDOWN!!

Identical situation. He said Mexico would pay for it, and it's up to him to make them keep his promise or slink away in shame.
He doesn't need to. We've got a new world now. Back in the Bush days, Americans held their politicians accountable. No more. They are mere pop stars who are forgiven for every lie, every poor decision, every behavioral digression.
What do you think people care more about? The wall, or Mexico paying for it?
If Mexico doesn't pay for it, there won't be a wall. Trump has already destroyed all of the credibility and good will we ever had among our allies. We don't need to look like East Germany on top of it to build a monument to his ego.
The only thing you're confused about is pretending like Trump is the only politician in history to not be able to fulfill a campaign promise because he didn't have the votes in Congress.
A better question is why are Democrats so hung up on who pays for it?
It's not like you can seriously expect anyone to believe that y'all have had a sudden "come to Jesus" moment as far as fiscal responsibility goes.
Because we don't want it, and don't want our tax dollars paying for it when we were promised they wouldn't be. Don't know how many ways we have to say it before you hear it.

Just a Trump ploy for election. He has also known...no way would Mexico pay, why would they??? They want their criminals to head to the USA.
At least Trump asked them to pay for it and they refused but he still has a backup plan and we need the wall started now! Where were these anti-wall people when congress passed the wall bill back in 2006 and it was to be soley the taxpayer to fund it? I don't recall any outrage about it then. It just goes to show you that these anti-wall people have an ulterior motive and it has nothing to do with the costs nor the effectiveness of the good walls.
So 400,000 thousand employees in the Federal goverment and their families suffer becuase trump lied to you.
