Does anyone actually get offended over all this Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays stuff? I've been watching CNN (something I don't normally do) and Ana Cabrara has been saying Merry Christmas to all her guests.
I never have gotten what the big deal is.
Listen, when I worked in the public, I always said "Happy Holidays" to my customers because I had no idea what their beliefs were. How on earth does this hurt anyone? It IS the HOLY DAY season. I'm OK with that.
I also say Merry Christmas to anyone I know who celebrates Christmas. And get this - this is the really crazy thing - I've sent Happy Holiday or Happy Hanukah cards to Jewish friends who have (gasp) sent me Merry Christmas cards! It's crazy!
As for Trump, who I think is, for lack of a better word since I'm trying to be diplomatic (and that's hard for me, which is why I'm not a diplomat) shall we say "clumsy," - he has a multireligious family. He has said both Happy Holidays AND Merry Christmas repeatedly in public speeches, his infamous Twitter account, etc etc. President Obama did too - and I guess he still is, I don't know - I don't pay too much attention to former presidents. Anyway, much ado about nothing - as usual.

Agreed. Let's let it die. But in order for that to happen, someone needs to tell that to Fox News and right wing talk radio and websites, because these are the places Trump gets his "news" from, and they have been pushing this garbage for years now.

Well Happy Holidays is an all encompassing term and all inclusive to everyone and he is the President of America so Happy Holidays is actually an appropriate expression when you are addressing people from all walks of life, races and religious persuasion no matter the God they worship or don't and the term also extends good wishes to the usually grumpy bah humbug Social Justice Warriors and those that suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I think it is refreshing that our President is reaching out to everyone.

Absolutely. Fox showed a video last week of sheeple praising Individual 1 for 'saving Christmas". As LONG as this pretense continues to be fostered by the right - the left will continue to point out the hypocrisy of Individual 1.
