Didn't know a common sense conservative meant being a RINO. Thanks for playing.

Liberals like him because he's not a conservative.

And we already have a great president. Kasich would be a continuation of Obama the monster

It's equally sad that the Democratic party can't bet behind a "moderate" like Kasich. IMO, he should think of switching parties and bring something close to sanity to the Dems. He'd be a counter for the loons like Ocasio-Cortez and Mad Maxine.

Kasich isn't that moderate.

He's as moderate as Hillary.

It's so sad how angry you are. It clouds your judgment and makes you say stupid things. So sad. Yet, strangely amusing.

Too many Republicans have already switched. We can't handle it, we need a wall to keep them at bay.

Kasich would have been a fairly hard-right conservative in the 1970s, or even the 1980s. But times have changed. Today, “conservative” is less a position on the social wedge-issues (on which Kasich remains a pretty doctrinaire conservative), but isolationism and repudiation of government by professionals.

Kasich’s candidacy would be doomed, because he lacks a constituent “base”. And unlike some celebrity candidates, he lacks photogenic appeal. He lacks an enticing narrative to which potential voters could relate, instead coming across as “just another politician”. These days, successful politicians, whether from the Left or the Right, need to excite voters. They need to offer something grand, some pithy and rousing passel of slogans and go-get’em vignettes. Kasich lacks that. Even while a plurality of voters might find him to be an acceptable compromise, these are not compromising-times (in one sense of the word). These are the times that breed and reward extremists.
