Thank you! Why spend 5 billion on a stupid vanity wall and wait for it to be constructed? Border agents, cell phone towers, surveillance cameras, helicopters, drones and vehicles can provide immediate border security that a medieval border wall cannot provide! Donald Trump is making this medieval border wall a political, campaign and ego issue that Mexico should pay for!
I have provided many links proving that the good walls do work. Did you miss them? If walls are medieval then why do we have them around our homes and businesses? Why are there prison walls? You know better than the Border Patrol and Homeland Security that say these walls are necessary?
Was the wall an ego issue when congress passed the actual wall bill back in 2006? Oh stop with this constant yapping about Mexico paying for the wall! Were you as upset back in 2006 when congress expected the taxpayer to soley fund it? I'd say a $25 billion wall is much cheaper than the over $100 billion a year that illegals cost us unless you failed at math. Here's Trump's plan now kindly stop being a parrot in here there are far too many in here already.
You clearly do not know anything on this subject. I was speaking about the walls that have already been built around Brownsville, Texas. If you knew about this, you would know that some sanctuaries have been split in half and that migration routes and free movement has already been disrupted for many types of birds, and also for endangered mammals, such as the ocelot. Her is an article on the subject, but there are many more. Just google it. https://www.sierraclub.org/sierra/tr...xas-study-says
If you were to do this, you would actually be educating yourself on the subject. And please .... if an ocelot cannot get to it's breeding ground because of a wall, do you think it will say to itself "well, I could just walk west for 700 miles, and I will get around it." Really, try thinking.
Birds? a 20' wall is going to stop the migration of birds? Are we talking about ostriches? Your link did not provide one example of a wall destroying a population of any kind, plant or animal. Just a lot of fearmongering speculation of what might happen. What I think the ocelot will say to itself is "well, looks like we will just breed around here".

Another poster just responded to your nonsense so I'm not going to bother. I also asked do you value plant and animal life more than human life? Apparently, so.

Squawk squawk, there you go parroting the same crap over and over again. No one passed a WALL bill back in 2006. It was a FENCE bill. A FENCE bill. A FENCE bill. How many time do we have to remind you. Almost like talking to a brick wall.
El Centro Project (2.25 miles): Completed. El Paso Project (20 miles): Completed San Diego Primary Project (14 miles): Completion anticipated in May 2019. El Paso Project (4 miles): Construction started in September.
In FY18, Congress provided $1.375B for border wall construction which equates to approximately 84 miles of border wall in multiple locations across the Southwest border, including:
$251M for a secondary border wall in the San Diego Sector
$445M to construct a new levee wall system in the Rio Grande Valley Sector
$196M to construct a new steel bollard wall system in Rio Grande Valley Sector
$445M for a primary pedestrian wall in San Diego, El Centro, Yuma and Tucson Sectors
DHS is positioned to construct 215 miles of Border Patrol’s highest priority border wall miles including:
~5 miles in San Diego Sector in California
~14 miles in El Centro Sector in California
~27 miles in Yuma Sector in Arizona
~9 miles in El Paso Sector in New Mexico
~55 miles in Laredo Sector in Texas
~104 miles in Rio Grande Valley Sector in Texas
And finally....

The Bottom Line: Walls Work. When it comes to stopping drugs and illegal aliens from crossing our borders, border walls have proven to be extremely effective. Border security relies on a combination of border infrastructure, technology, personnel and partnerships with law enforcement at the state, local, tribal, and federal level. For example, when we installed a border wall in the Yuma Sector, we have seen border apprehensions decrease by 90 percent. In San Diego, we saw on Sunday that dilapidated, decades-old barriers are not sufficient for today’s threat and need to be removed so new – up to 30 foot wall sections can be completed.
We’ve wasted over $6 TRILLION in the Middle East the past 17 years, with nothing to show for it. Now we are “outraged” over $5 BILLION to spend on protecting our own border. That’s .08% of the ME money.
Sure, Trump lied about Mexico paying for it (unless USMCA generates greater trade revenue for the US). Obama also said your premiums will go down 30% with Obamacare. It’s called politics

So we should not fund BORDER SECURITY which is one of the FEW specific duties of the Federal Government? It is also part of our National Defense. But we should fund all kinds of Social Engineering crap never intended to be the responsibility of the Federal Government?
