However, some peoples dignity is so strong that they don't.....and they fight and resist....and get shot. Sometimes even if you don't resist and give people what they want, they shoot you anyway. I am sure if a relative of yours got mugged and shot for resisting, that the whole thing would be your relatives fault.

Sometimes people are just not in the mood to acquiesce to being robbed of their possessions, whether it be money or dignity.

Not that he's going to see your point, because in his eyes no black man has a reason to have dignity.

He wanted to be awkward, and decided he was being racially abused. He was arrogant and full of himself, and got loud and obnoxious. The police should have escorted him out in the street, and the hotel should have thrown his hotel room fee at him on the way out.

Yep, called it.

No, I'm simply referring to incidents that go viral and have people discussing them, whether it be Starbucks or some guy in a hotel lobby. I also understand that black people don't like being profiled, and are very much aware (as the rest of is are when it is recorded) that this happens quite frequently, and that is why they are not quick to provide identification or answer personal questions. I do want to distinguish someone standing in a hallway, or working behind a counter, from someone who is a police officer. When someone plays games with law enforcement, regardless of their color, they are making themselves look foolish and only making their situation worse.

Do I believe some of these people create this chaos and then play the victim as they record it? Of course I do.

You can google her name and watch the entire 45 minutes of her interaction with the police and reach your own conclusions, but the fact is that three year later, she's dead, and the police officers are still working.

Where do we draw the line at behavior and demeanor and personal responsibility for those things? When do we stop making excuses and start applying basic standards for EVERYONE regardless of the color of their skin? Isn't that one of the most basic tenets of equality?

Yes, there are many white people killed unjustly by the police.

I always wonder why white people seem so compliant about police being able to shoot them unjustly, like this man.

It's not a good thing that police can shoot you down and you don't mind.

Why should he? He was a paying client of the hotel.

I came across a black man acting like a dick at airport security.

So, it’s not like only whites can be like this but blacks can’t.

Why do people have to question every 'why' when a situation like this is being discussed? Who cares why he didn't make the call in his room? Maybe someone was sleeping there and he didn't want to wake them. Maybe he walked in with his wife who was in a hurry to get to bed and he was courteous enough to stay behind and take the call in a public part of the hotel. Maybe he just walked into the hotel when his mother called him and he sat down to talk to her because he wanted to buy something before going to his room. Maybe a million other things we're not thinking of.

It reminds me of the news story about the high school kid who missed his school bus, started to walk to school and getting lost rang a door bell and was shot at by the homeowner. Posters wanted to know why nobody drove him, why he missed the bus, why he didn't know how to get to school, why he didn't have a cell phone, blah blah blah.

These questions have nothing to do with the issue being discussed. This man was in an establishment whose sole purpose involves hospitality and it seems like what he experienced was far from it.
