Last week, after the NY Times published an editorial criticizing President Trump's climate change policies, specifically, his pulling out of the Paris climate accord, the Daily Caller contacted them and asked them if they supported banning private jets to fight global warming. Earlier in 2018, the New York Times flew 50 wealthy readers 29,000 miles (on a 26 day tour) on a charter Boeing 757 that normally seats up to 295 passengers and can burn 720 gallons of fuel per hour.

The NY Times didn't respond.

Previously, the Daily Caller contacted 31 businesses, individuals and foundations which publicly backed the Paris climate accord and asked if they would give up flying on private jets. This included Facebook, Google, Apple, Al Gore, Tom Steyer, Michael Bloomberg, Leonardo DiCaprio (burned more than 17,000 gallons of jet fuel in 2016 during a round trip from France to New York City to accept an environmental award at the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball. DiCaprio flew back one day later to France to attend an AIDS benefit gala)....

Only 2 responded, Virgin Airlines (Branson) and Munich Re.

So, besides the aforementioned who are all gung ho on reversing global warming as long as you and I do it, we (CD posters) are not likely to fly on private jets (so you're not likely to be called a hypocrite if you answer) what do those of you say? Should private jet travel be banned?

It's certainly a lot more logical than banning plastic bags.

Or straws.

That said, I don't favor a ban on hypocrisy no matter what people believe.

Even super wealthy, out-of-touch people who say one thing for everyone else and don't live it themselves.
