Well Im not going into The City this Wednesday, that's for darn sure. LOL
Protesters rally before Olympic torch's arrival in San Francisco (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/04/04/sports/s112856D52.DTL - broken link)
I will hope that californians go protest that. Hopefully they do better than the paris one and throw a bucket of water (as opposed to the cup which missed) to put out the flame.

I'm all for a protest of a government that is communist. Of course I'm not sure how many actually liberty minded people live in SF. Now if they really want to protest don't buy anything from China.
As we speak, I know of busloads of people driving from Georgia and Massachusetts to San Francisco to protest, including several Darfur groups (which is also largely supported by China if you look at Chinese foreign policy rather than the domestic atrocities). Not to mention San Francisco has a large enough activist community to shut the city down. Buenos Aires as well, for that matter. After the Dirty War, people in Argentina don't take too kindly to human rights abuses.

The funny part is the torch isnt even going to the GGB. Because of all the planned protests, they've drastically scaled back the torch relay in SF to just up and down the Embarcadero. LOL
