Trump is a chronic liar. If the Democrats cave in shame on them. Trump said he is proud to close the government down. This is on his shoulders now and for him to constantly blame Democrats is unbelievable. Everyone knows they can’t trust Trump. The man must be mentally ill.

True.

Allowing ILLEGAL ALIENS into our country is just that: ILLEGAL! Plus, it's an insult and a slap in the face to all of those who immigrated to our country legally and followed the laws.

Anyone who wants ILLEGALS to trespass and invade our country validates they hate the United States and have no respect for it's citizens. If anyone invaded their home they would be calling 911 ASAP and demanding justice. . . yet, those same people are wanting our country to be invaded. They need to prove their love of ILLEGALS and run to the border to invite them into their homes, give them free room and board, free medical, free clothing, free transportation, etc., etc.

Both Dems and Republicans did not want to close gov. Trump didn't care and said he would own it so place blame if you must on dems but, I heard what Trump said.

You have no proof whatsoever of your stupid claims. Just because Limbaugh or Ingraham stated their opinion on this doesn't mean that's the reason that Trump decided to shut down the government. Trump was talking about doing that long before they even said anything. If he changed his mind on signing any deal it's because the Democrats wouldn't give him the $5 billion that he requested instead they only offered a little over $1 billion. I swear the MSN just makes idiotic statements and you guys lap up their unfounded remarks and repeat them ad nauseum.

I'd be proud to shut the government down over a national security issue also. Without that we have nothing. Trump didn't want to do it as he also stated but it was necessary. I don't see the Democrats wanting to negotiate at all. So how is this on Trump's shoulders? Last I heard Trump was even willing to take half of what he requested to end the shut down. But nooooooooooooo, Schumer said no wall, period!

Sooner or later the voters should get the idea that electing Republicans is not good for America.

For that matter, it was the Republicans who sent him the bill, and he reneged on his deal with Congress. McConnell and Ryan could have put together a 2/3 majority to override his veto any time they wanted.

Don't they teach civics in high school any more?
Thanks. I wasn't aware of the 10-day window. I learned something this morning. If I learned it in high school, I have forgotten it in the last fifty years since then.

I guess what will happen is the incoming House will run a copy and send it back over with a new deadline.

Q: How long should the Democrats keep a large part of the Federal Government closed to stop the border wall?

A: That question needs to be directed to the individual who is keeping the government shutdown at his personal request and by his every action. Please refer to President Donald Trump who is proudly wearing the mantle of shutdown.

So, we should just give up trying?

Where we DO have appropriate walls illegal crossing have diminished greatly.

We do NOT live in Utopia.

We do NOT stop all murders, robbery's, drunk driver's etc, but we STILL have laws against such actions.

Even if we stop HALF, it would be HUGE improvement and a success.
Sounds like the same argument I have heard against gun control laws.

We have a very effective Border Patrol. Most immigrants are coming through checkpoints.

That said, only 28% of all new immigrants to America come across the Mexican border. Trump wants the wall as a vanity project, and he has sold it using irrational fear.

It was built, and the money was spent. If it has solved the problem, we would not be having this discussion today.

Trump is digging his own grave by keeping the government closed. He lied about Mexico paying for it, and now he closed down the govt because he can't get the American taxpayers to pay for something they don't want.
