It doesn't matter. Many who argue for a wall say that e-verify is also needed as you did but no one is even talking e-verify. What that means is all this wall talk is nothing more than politics. An attempt to divide one side against the other when the politicians are all on the same side. Cheap labor.
It's just like all the talk we had before the 2016 elections about bathroom choice. What happened to those arguments? They are gone. Hillary used that because she was exactly the same as the other side where economics and war was concerned so she had to drum up something.
The wall isn't about stopping people from coming. We all know it's not going to. You know it. Trump knows it.
Trump is the only one who ever suggested a wall. Before Trump, the established Republicans weren't focused on illegal immigration like that, much less going after birthright citizenship. You do know that we have Russians, Chinese, and other people groups who come into this country illegally? Just this week we had a rapper of UK origin who got deported. A wall won't stop them from coming in. As far as drug runners go, they have underground tunnels they can work. So unless we also construct the wall to go underground, we are wasting time there.
Once Trump leaves office, you will never have another president going after immigration like him. Trump is a loose cannon. The establishment Republicans want that cheap labor. Yeah, far left Democrats also want open borders, but for different reasons. I'm all for strong borders and changing to blood citizenship. We can't take in all of the world's poor. (I'm not worried about the criminal aspect of illegal immigrants.)
What difference does it make which party has focused on illegal immigration? Our standing president has and that's what counts! Birthright citizenship should be addressed as it's been misinterpreted for far too long. Who's denying that the Russians, etc. come to this country illegally? However, the bulk of illegal aliens have been border jumpers from south of our border. Who says that a wall will deter visa over stayers? The wall is for border jumpers duh and there are over 30,000 a month doing that. The visa over stayers will just have to be dealt with in a different way. Try to stay on topic. This is one about the border wall and border jumpers.
Ever heard of tunnel sensors? The tunnels being dug have been under the inferior walls not the good physical barriers of which we need to fix. How do you know what a future president will do? Got a crystal ball there? Of course a Democrat president won't care about border security as they would be pandering to their base and want the flow of future Democrats to keep coming.
You're not dealing in reality if you think that it's only the Republicans who like cheap labor. You're not worried about the criminal aspect of illegal immigration? Huh?
He's getting the same thing he was offered when he turned it down and shut down the government.
If you want to call that a win, go ahead. /shrug

"They're bringing drugs. They bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."--Donald Trump.
Trump's right, illegals have been bringing drugs into the country and illegals have committed rapes in our country. If you have a link that this has never happened, post it.
