It really irritates me, the way Trump keeps mockingly referring to Warren as "Pocahontas." First of all, it's his usual cowardly bullying ploy of insulting people when they're not there, so can't retort back. (I don't believe he's ever called her that to her face, has he?) Of course, it's also his juvenile shorthand since he is incapable of attacking her on substance. Second, anyone who is actually well-informed knows that she grew up being told that the family had Indian blood, which is apparently common among people there. Third, she never benefited from it in any way.

But here's what I was thinking. What Trump did was pounce on something that may or may not have been part of her ethnic background, and then mocked her by calling her by the name of someone famous of that background. Right? So, can't we call turn the tables and do the same to Trump? We all know that he's of German descent. So can we call start calling him "Hitler"? That seems only fair
Trump is a childish jerk--that's pretty much accepted by everyone.

If I were her, I'd adopt the name as an affectionate nickname and turn it around on him, so that people like calling her that and making a big joke out of it to deflate Trump's whatever. He's going to pathetically go on ad nauseum--if she likes it--he won't.

You really do not know the history behind any of this, do you.

^^^ ironic post in a thread full of complaints about Trump's use of 'Pocahontas.' We can't yowl and howl about Trump when we do even worse ourselves. We just end up looking like grade-A jerks. Not the best look for liberalism.

I don't buy the argument that a president must be held to a higher standard than a liberal CD poster. We all are human, and all must meet the basic standard of decency.

Have only read through post # 40. If I'm being repetitious, forgive me. Many Jews have issues with throwing terms like "Nazi", "Gestapo", "Holocaust", and yes, "Hitler" around. That jerk Robert F. Kennedy, Jr got in big trouble for referring to vaccines as a "holocaust".

Curious how the liberal dems here are not bothered that Warren was pretending to be a Native American, when she wasn't. Trump calls her out for this, and because Warren is a liberal Democrat, the left spring to her rescue. Such hypocrites.

Curious how the GOPers here think that what gets claimed by the RWNJ blogosphere in some way resembles the truth.

Warren's family history says that they have Cherokee heritage, which is what she has claimed. She never said she was a registered member of a tribal nation or anything like that, and all of her employers confirm that she never applied for a job claiming any type of preference.

But then again, GOPers actually believe that Trump was a successful businessman merely because he said so. How's that hypocrisy working for you?

You just completely ignored the point of the post you responded to, instead going off to launch a fresh, unrelated, attack.

Yes, because the first two paragraphs of my post that were directly responsive were apparently invisible.

And since Trump is the one who loves to dish out attacks, it's funny how sensitive he and his followers are when his actual (not made up) short comings are discussed.

I see what the OP is trying to do, but one is not the same as the other.

Warren claimed to be Native American in order to take advantage of Affirmative Action offered at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.

Making this false claim earned her the moniker of Pocahontas because she isn't really Native American and she knew that when she made the claim.

Trump really is of German ancestry, so he isn't claiming anything that isn't true.

He also never falsely claimed to be German so as to defraud others of their legally entitled benefits provided by Affirmative Action programs.

Of course, I could play along...I'll call him president Adenauer!

It seems to fit anyway.
